The Retail Association of Maine announced that Freedom Energy Logistics LLC will be its sole provider of exclusive energy procurement consultant services for the Association and its 400+ members.

Direct Energy Closes on Acquisition

Direct Energy has closed on its previously reported purchase of AWHR, America's Water Heater Rentals, for $30 million in cash plus working capital. Direct Energy said that AWHR, which is headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, is the largest independent water heater rental business in the U.S. and provides rentals, as well as related repair and maintenance services, to 80,000 residential customers located principally in the Midwest, Florida and U.S. Northeast. FERC Approves Dynegy Acquisition of Ameren Energy Resources

FERC approved the acquisition of Ameren Energy Resources by Dynegy, finding that the transaction does not create horizontal or vertical market power concerns. The transaction includes Dynegy's acquisition of retail supplier Ameren Energy Marketing Company, which also does business as Homefield Energy
