Ohio Approves Prices from FirstEnergy Utilities Default Service Auction

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approved the results of the FirstEnergy Ohio utilities' auction to procure default service supplies for various terms starting June 1, 2014.

For tranches with a delivery period of June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015, the auction resulted in an average clearing price of $50.91/MWh, with four winning bidders.

For tranches with a delivery period of June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2016, the auction resulted in an average clearing price of $59.99/MWh, with four winning bidders.

These results will be blended with previous auctions and three upcoming auctions to establish retail generation rates from June 1, 2014 through May 31, 2016.

The names of the winning bidders will remain confidential for 21 days.
