WGES Acquires 20,000 Retail Energy Customers from Retail Supplier

Washington Gas Energy Services, Inc. announced on October 31 that it had acquired all of Castlebridge Energy Group's residential and small commercial electric and natural gas retail contracts.
Castlebridge Energy was serving more than 20,000 residential and small commercial customers.
The book included electric and natural gas customers at Baltimore Gas & Electric, and electric customers at Pepco, Delmarva, and PECO.
Terms were not disclosed.
WGES will maintain customers' current rates and contract terms. At no additional charge, WGES will also start supplying all Castlebridge residential electric customers with 5% wind power (3.5% for small commercial), and will start supplying all Castlebridge residential gas customers with 5% carbon offsets (3.5% for small commercial)
Castlebridge Energy Group said that it had decided to "exit" the retail energy business.
