5 Hires Veteran of Constellation, Pepco Energy Services

Broker-consultant 5 announced that it has hired 20-year industry veteran Jeff Grejda to join its team. Grejda most recently served as a senior energy advisor at APPI Energy and previously held a variety of roles at various Constellation subsidiaries. Grejda has also previously held positions at Pepco Energy Services, Shell Energy Trading, and Enron. In his new position with 5, Grejda will be based in Maryland

New York Suspends Tariff Filing Which ESCOs Said Raise Concerns Regarding Utility Pricing Advantage for Default Service

The New York PSC has suspended, until September 1, 2014, a tariff filing made by KeySpan New York regarding changes to modify the calculations of the monthly cost of gas for sales customers provided service under Service Classification Nos. 4A, High Load Factor Service; 4A-CNG, Compressed Natural Gas Equipment Service; and 4B, Year-Round Air Condition Service, in order to address comments on the filing. Several ESCOs had said that, despite improvements under KeySpan's proposed changes, KeySpan's monthly cost of gas for SC-4A and B is too low because KeySpan has not refreshed the fixed gas costs (click here for prior story)
