Texas REP Offering $60 Monthly Credit to Customers with High Usage

TruSmart Energy has launched a retail electric product in Texas that provides a significant bill credit for usage in excess of 950 kWh per month.
Specifically, under TruSmart Energy's TruCredit product, available with a 4 or 12-month fixed rate, the customer receives a credit of $35 if their monthly usage is between 950 kWh and 1900 kWh.
A credit of $55 (4-month product) or $60 (12-month product) applies if monthly usage is at least 1901 kWh, or greater.
At the 950+ kWh level, there is no monthly base fee. A monthly fee of $14.95 applies in months with usage under 950 kWh.
The products include a fixed energy charge of 6.9¢/kWh for the 4-month plan and 7.9¢/kWh for the 12-month plan
The average all-rate for the TruCredit 4-month product is 7.3¢/kWh at Oncor and 7.7¢/kWh at CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, based on 1,000 kWh monthly usage.
The average all-rate for the TruCredit 12-month product is 8.3¢/kWh at Oncor and 8.7¢/kWh at CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, based on 1,000 kWh monthly usage.
An early termination fee of $125 applies to the 4-month product and an early termination fee of $250 applies to the 12-month product.
As previously reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, TruSmart had previously launched "Conserve & Save" products offering a lower energy charge applicable to usage under certain thresholds (450 kWh and 950 kWh).
Additionally, TruSmart, which as previously reported offers a half-price nights and weekends plan among its time of use products, has also expanded its dynamic pricing offerings with a 60% Off Evenings, Nights, & Mornings product.
