Leading Network-Marketing Retail Supplier Could Soon Enter Texas Market, 2014 Launch Confirmed

North American Power will enter the Texas electric market at some time during 2014, and the entry could be imminent.

North American Power received its Texas retail electric provider certificate in January 2012, but to date has not been active.

However, North American Power filed notice with the Public Utility Commission of Texas on January 7 that it has completed retail testing and Electronic Data Interchange requirements with ERCOT.

Aside from EDI testing, North American Power is right now completing another task it said was necessary prior to launching in Texas: developing all of its materials for independent representatives (training materials, automated emails, videos, and parts of the sales referral back office process) in Spanish. North American Power told independent representatives that these new materials for representatives will begin to be rolled out this week.

"We'll be launching Green Electric in Texas," in 2014, North American Power recently told its independent representatives.

North American Power had previously selected to hold its 2014 annual PowerCon conference for independent representatives in Houston, in August 2014.

While North American Power has told independent representatives the annual conference will also serve to "celebrate" the Texas launch, the actual launch could come well before August.

North American Power provided the following statement to EnergyChoiceMatters.com:

"North American Power intends to enter the Texas market, but we have not announced a firm date for entry. While ERCOT certification and market testing is moving forward this month, North American Power will not accept enrollments until our stated entry date."
