Frontier Utilities, LLC announced that Chris Weaver has joined its executive team as Chief Financial Officer.

Weaver joins Frontier Utilities from AP Gas & Electric LLC where he was Controller and then Chief Financial Officer before becoming Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to AP Gas & Electric, he spent several years with Deloitte where he managed audit services to utility and power generation clients.

Frontier, which currently is active in Texas, confirmed that in 2014 it will be adding natural gas service alongside expanding into certain Midwest and Northeast deregulated markets.

EnergyChoiceMatters.com had first reported in October that Frontier had received an ESCO license in New York, and is seeking electric and natural gas supplier licenses in Pennsylvania.

As previously reported, in its Pennsylvania application, Frontier said that it, "plans to expand its operations throughout the PJM service territory."

In the near term, Frontier said in the Pennsylvania application that it plans to submit applications for supplier licenses in New Jersey, Maryland, and Ohio.

More broadly, Frontier said in the Pennsylvania application that it also plans to expand to the District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
