Provider Power Mass officially announced its launch of electric service in Massachusetts.

For Massachusetts residential customers, Provider Power is offering 6-month fixed rates as follows, in ¢/kWh.

Nstar: 8.44
National Grid: 8.52
WMECO: 8.14
Unitil: 8.38

If the customer cancels the contract early, the customer is responsible for paying a "Cost Recovery Fee" of $100, "and any cost associated with the cost of selling the unused portion of your electricity to others as well as estimated lost revenue that Provider Power Mass may incur from such a sale."

Commercial service is also available.

Provider Power Mass is part of the Provider Power family of companies which includes ENH Power (in New Hampshire) and Electricity Maine. Collectively the companies provide electricity to more than 200,000 residential and small business customers in the two states.

Provider Power said that it would launch in Massachusetts a program similar to its Power to Help Fund, which, depending on partner type, donates a portion of sales, or a donation per enrollment, to various non-profits and community organizations.
