ERCOT: Demand Increased Only 1% in 2013

Peak demand in ERCOT increased only 1% in 2013, ERCOT confirmed in its recently released Demand and Energy Report.

At 67,245 megawatts (MW), 2013 peak demand was up by about 1 percent from 2012 but remained lower than the all-time record of 68,305 MW set on Aug. 3, 2011, during the hottest summer on record.

Compared to 2012, ERCOT's overall energy use increased 2.1% from 324,859,701 MWh to 331,624,102 MWh.
