Decline in Pennsylvania Residential Shopping Continues at Steady Pace

The weekly decline in the number of Pennsylvania residential customers on competitive supply continued on a steady pace in the most recent week, according to the latest stats from the PUC.

The Pennsylvania retail electric market lost 4,800 residential customers on competitive supply from about April 24 to April 30, which was even with the week-ago loss.

From about April 24 to April 30 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply was:

Duquesne Light         (959)
Met-Ed                 (535)
PECO                    (16)
Penelec                (847)
Penn Power               (4)
PPL                  (1,331)
West Penn Power      (1,128)

For comparison, the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply from about April 17 to April 23 at each utility was:

Met-Ed                 (646)

Penelec                (753)
Penn Power              (23)
PPL                  (1,433)
West Penn Power      (1,062)
