The Michigan PSC has approved a temporary increase in Consumers Energy's gas cost recovery factor to $5.575 per Mcf, plus the potential for additional increases, subject to a cap, based on a contingency mechanism.
Specifically, Consumers was authorized to increase its maximum GCR factor to $5.575 per Mcf beginning with the first full billing month following issuance of the PSC's May 2 order, and until such time as a final order is issued in a review of Consumers' GCR plan.
Additionally, the PSC approved a contingency mechanism which will allow interim increases in the maximum GCR factor based on NYMEX prices, subject to a $3.00 cap on NYMEX price increases associated with the contingency mechanism.
Case No. U-17334
