The New York PSC has scheduled for May 15, 2014 a technical conference on winter price spikes.
"The primary purpose of the technical conference is to examine how extreme winter weather caused tight energy supply conditions and contributed to gas and electric price spikes during this past winter. Staff of the Department of Public Service, and panels comprised of industry experts, will present information to the Commission on New York and regional energy pricing and supply, consumer impacts, the reliability of the State's energy supply (including fuel adequacy), electricity and gas prices, and the roles of utilities and energy services companies relative to energy supply and price hedging," the PSC said.
