New Retail Supplier Serving Load at CL&P

Mega Energy recently began serving load at Connecticut Light & Power, according to the most recent migration data filed with PURA.

As of May 31, Mega Energy was serving 12 CL&P customers, all of them non-residential. It had been serving zero CL&P customers as of April 30.

Mega Energy has been serving load at United Illuminating since late 2013, but initially, only 2-3 accounts per month. In April, its customer count at UI jumped from 2 to 12.

On an aggregate basis, Connecticut is still seeing a decline in the number of customers on competitive supply. From April 30 to May 31, CL&P saw the total number of customers on competitive supply decrease by 6,500 accounts, and UI saw total shopping decrease by 2,000 accounts
