Green Mountain Energy Company filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas a statement of intent to provide retail electric service using a customer prepayment device or system.

"GME's prepaid service uses a system that can obtain usage information from a transmission and distribution utility's provisioned advanced meter ... GME will use the data obtained from the advanced meter to reconcile each customer's account on a daily basis by adding customer payments to the prepaid balance, and subtracting the price of kilowatt-hours consumed, as well as any periodic or discretionary charges, from that balance," Green Mountain said.

Additional details were filed confidentially.
