Residential Default Service Rates to Fall Again at FirstEnergy Utilities (Commercial Rates to Increase)

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania electric distribution companies have filed new tariffed PTCDefault rates with the PUC for the three-month period starting December 1, and the residential rates will again decrease at most of the EDCs, while commercial rates will increase

The PTCDefault rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS).

At Met-Ed, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 7.007¢/kWh effective December 1, 5% lower than the current 7.362¢/kWh.

At Penelec, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.370¢/kWh effective December 1, 10% lower than the current 7.053¢/kWh.

At West Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.313¢/kWh effective December 1, slightly higher than the current 6.254¢/kWh.

At Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 5.419¢/kWh effective December 1, 14% lower than the current 6.328¢/kWh.

At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.767¢/kWh effective December 1, versus the current 6.715¢/kWh.

At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.576¢/kWh effective December 1, versus the current 7.414¢/kWh.

At West Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.947¢/kWh effective December 1, versus the current 6.016¢/kWh.

At Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.433¢/kWh effective December 1, versus the current 7.277¢/kWh.
