Start-up Grid Energy LLC applied for a Maryland electric broker/aggregator license to serve commercial and industrial customers in all service areas.
The company is owned by James Pettit and Job Henning, who are partners in a parallel firm, LinkPad, which develops technology solutions for utilities seeking to aggregate and automate demand response events, enable frequency modulation through distributed energy resources, and integrate the "pro-sumer" into the smart grid.
Grid Energy was formed to integrate the delivery of demand response automation with the brokerage of energy.
