Direct Energy Launches Service in New Territory

Direct Energy has begun offering residential natural gas service at UGI Penn Natural Gas under the Direct Energy brand.

As listed on the Office of Consumer Advocate price chart, Direct Energy is offering residential customers at UGI Penn Natural Gas the following fixed rate plans, some of which include a free Nest learning thermostat (¢ per ccf):

6 Months Fixed                                 68.90¢
12 Months Fixed                                67.90¢
18 Months Fixed                                66.90¢
18 Months Fixed-Military                       65.90¢
24 Months Fixed, Free Nest Thermostat          73.90¢
36 Months Fixed, Free Nest Thermostat          73.90¢

There are no early termination fees for any product, but the free Nest plans include a $200 device recovery fee.

Direct Energy's brand Gateway Energy Services Corp. had previously entered the service area.
