Summer Default Service Rate for Massachusetts Utility To Remain Above 11¢

Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company d/b/a Unitil has filed with the Massachusetts DPU new basic service rates for the period beginning June 1, 2015.

Although the mass market rates are 15% lower than the winter 2014-15 prices, the rates are still above 11¢/kWh. In contrast, National Grid will see its Massachusetts summer default service rates decrease from 16¢/kWh to just under 9¢/kWh.

Unitil's proposed new Massachusetts basic service rates are as follows:
