New Texas REPs Offering Free Nights Plan

Several Just Energy retail brands, including Amigo Energy and Tara Energy, have launched Free Nights electricity plans in Texas

Amigo Energy's Nights Free - 12 plan is a 12-month plan categorized as a fixed rate plan that offers customers free energy during the hours of 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. TDU fees still apply during these hours

The Amigo Energy Nights Free - 12 in the Oncor service area has an average all-in rate of 9.9¢/kWh (at 1,000 kWh usage). This reflects an Energy Charge of 8.5¢/kWh for the non-free hours, TDU volumetric charges of 3.3431¢/kWh, TDU monthly charges of $5.25, and a base charge of $4.95 per billing cycle. The price disclosure is based on an average usage profile with an estimated 35% consumption during the night hours.

The Amigo Energy Nights Free - 12 includes a $175 early termination fee.

In the Oncor service area, Tara Energy offers a Nights Free - 12 plan with the same pricing and rate design as the Amigo plan described above.
