NRG Home (Reliant) Receives Natural Gas Supplier License In New State

The Pennsylvania PUC granted Reliant Energy Northeast, d/b/a NRG Home, a natural gas supplier license to serve residential and small commercial (under 6,000 MCF annually) customers in all service areas.
To date, NRG's Reliant arm has not emphasized mass market natural gas sales. NRG inherited retail natural gas books in several states (such as Ohio, New York, and New Jersey) when it acquired Energy Plus, and also had previously launched an organic natural gas sales effort as part of its trial with Comcast, under Independence Energy.
Reliant Energy Northeast d/b/a NRG Home received Illinois and Maryland natural gas supplier licenses to serve mass market customers earlier this year.
