Texas Approves Settlement Imposing New Charges on REPs

The Public Utility Commission of Texas has adopted a settlement creating a new Distribution Cost Recovery Factor (DCRF), which will be charged to REPs, at CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric. The new DCRF charges had already been adopted on an interim basis. For amounts of the charges, click here


ERCOT Says Plants Not Needed for RMR Service

ERCOT issued a determination that Luminant Martin Lake Units 1 and 2 are not required to support ERCOT transmission system reliability (i.e. voltage support, stability or management of localized transmission constraints under first contingency criteria). Luminant had issued a notice of suspension of operations indicating that these two units will be mothballed on a seasonal basis, with a Seasonal Operation Period that begins on May 15 and ends on September 30 each year. The proposed effective date for the suspension of MLSES_UNIT 1 is January 1, 2016. The proposed effective date for the suspension of MLSES_UNIT 2 is October 1, 2015.
