Retail Provider Names Market Veteran As President of Texas REP, Cites M&A Potential

Verde Energy USA named Don B. Whaley as President of Verde Energy USA Texas, LLC.
Whaley will report directly to Thomas FitzGerald, President and Chief Executive Officer of Verde Energy USA.
Whaley will be responsible for the Texas unit's strategic direction, sales and marketing, customer service and operations. Verde Energy currently serves residential and small C&I customers in Texas but sees the opportunity to expand into the large C&I market.
Thomas FitzGerald, Verde USA’s CEO, said, "We see significant upside potential in the Texas market in terms of new product development, expansion of our footprint, growth in the large commercial market segment, and mergers and acquisitions."
Whaley is a veteran of the Texas energy industry with thirty years of experience in various leadership capacities, and was previously President of Texas Operations at Direct Energy.
Whaley also previously served as vice president at several energy companies, including Coral Energy (Shell Energy North America), TXU Energy Trading, and El Paso Energy.
