N.Y. Sets Agenda for Clean Energy Standard Workshops, Focus on Utility Long-Term Contracting, Generation Ownership

The New York PSC has released an agenda for its first workshop on a proposed Clean Energy Standard and nuclear standard proposed to be imposed on load serving entities such as ESCOs

The initial workshop, now to be held on February 26 only (dropping a prior February 25 additional session), will include a panel focusing on the long-term utility contracting proposed in a Staff whitepaper, including:
a. Power-purchase agreements and self-initiated market development
b. Mandated procurement of bundled power-purchase agreements and other directed procurements
c. Utility-owned generation
The PSC announced an intent to hold two additional workshops in March, with dates to be announced in the future
Among other things, the March workshops are to address
• Alternative Compliance Mechanisms
• Implications/interaction with the wholesale market
• Interaction with, "other programs and initiatives"
