The Pennsylvania PUC approved an extension of Duquesne Light's standard offer customer referral program through May 31, 2017, with slight modifications.
The standard offer customer referral program offers certain customers calling Duquesne Light a standard retail supply product -- a 12-month rate priced at 7% off the then-current Duquesne Light PTC, with interested customer calls transferred to a participating retail supplier's.
The program's acquisition fee charged to retail suppliers of $10.28 per customer is not being changed, and will remain fixed through May 31, 2017.
Changes approved by the PUC under the extended program include script changes, including explicit language that, "overall savings will vary as [the] Price to Compare changes."
Additionally, the standard offer script will explicitly inform customers that, "Your Standard Offer Rate may be higher or lower than the next Price to Compare."
New language also explicitly informs customers that there is no termination fee for returning to SOS from the standard offer program, or for choosing another EGS.
