As part of a newly proposed electric security plan, Dayton Power & Light has proposed several changes to its electric supplier coordination tariff.

DP&L described many of the proposals as clarifying language and/or conforming to current practice.

Notably, DP&L proposes to explicitly include in the tariff that suppliers shall not use utility consolidated billing, "for billing of items other than electric commodity."

This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, early termination fees

DP&L would also add language stating that utility consolidated billing shall not be used, "for communication of any anti-competitive or disparaging messages."

DP&L's proposed changes also remove fees for dual, rate-ready and consolidated billing. The current tariff allows DP&L to charge $.20 per bill for consolidated billing with an initial set up fee of $5,000 for rate ready billing. For dual billing, the current tariff allows DP&L to charge suppliers $.12 per bill for dual billing to cover electronic data interchange costs.
