As part of a new electric security plan, Dayton Power & Light has sought a nonbypassable Reliable Electricity Rider to maintain the operation of 8,100 MW of coal-fired plants, of which DP&L currently owns a 2,100 MW share.
The reliable electricity rider would include the following coal-fired plants, which are to be separated into a competitive affiliate as of January 1, 2017:
• Stuart Station Units #1-4
• Zimmer Unit #1
• Miami Fort Units #7 and #8
• Killen Unit #2
• Conesville Unit #4
• OVEC Clifty Creek Units #1-6
• OVEC Kyger Creek Units #1-5
Output from the plants would be sold into the PJM markets, with any credits/costs passed through to customers on a nonbypassable basis.
