Parent of Retail Supplier To Sell 1,300 MW of Merchant Generation

A subsidiary of ENGIE S.A., f/k/a GDF SUEZ S.A., has filed for FERC approval to sell 1,300 MW of generation in ISO New England to a unit of the Public Sector Pension Investment Board
Specifically, FirstLight Hydro Generating Company and various affiliates would under the agreement sell 1,332 MW, comprised of 13 hydroelectric generation facilities (pumped storage and conventional hydroelectric), and one 22 MW kerosene-fired peaking facility
The purchaser is PSP H2O FL USA LLC, a special purpose entity established for the purpose of the transaction, which ultimately is owned and controlled by Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP), a Canadian Crown corporation created by an act of the Canadian Parliament, with a share capital issued to the President of the Treasury Board of Canada to be held on behalf of Her Majesty in the right of Canada. PSP invests the net contributions from the pension plans of the Public Service, the Canadian Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Reserve Force
