Update: Texas REP Discloses Size of Acquired Book of Customer

Now Power, a trade name of Brooklet Energy Distribution, has confirmed to EnergyChoiceMatters.com certain details of its acquisition of a book of customers from TruSmart Energy
EnergyChoiceMatters.com had first reported that TruSmart had reached an agreement for the sale of its prepay and weekly/biweekly product customer contract portfolio to Now Power
Now Power confirmed that such prepaid and weekly/biweekly customers only represent a portion of TruSmart’s book.
Now Power also told EnergyChoiceMatters.com that it acquired approximately 2,900 customers from TruSmart
TruSmart did not respond to requests for comment. It was unclear if TruSmart has sold (or is seeking to sell) any remaining customers to another REP, or if intends to maintain service to the remaining customers, or if the remaining book is small enough to be disposed of through natural attrition. As previously reported, on March 21, Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) filed a petition under Docket 45749 to revoke the retail electric provider (REP) certificate of TruSmart Energy, LLC (click here for details)
