Unitil Default Service Rates To Decrease 35%

Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company d/b/a Unitil has filed with the Massachusetts DPU electric basic service rates for the period beginning June 1, 2016.

The fixed basic service charge for residential customers (RD-1, RD-2) and Small General (GD-1) commercial customers is 7.878¢/kWh for the period June 2016 to November 2016. That's about 35% lower than the current rate of over 12¢/kWh.

Additional rates are below; the rates remain subject to DPU approval. All listed rates include the Basic Service Costs Adder of $0.00546/kWh effective December 1, 2015.
