Start-up Charity+Power Prepares To Launch Service

Start-up broker Charity+Power, Inc. is preparing to launch service, and applied for an Ohio electric broker license to serve residential and commercial customers in all service areas.

Charity+Power, Inc., was recently formed in October 2015 for the purpose of brokering power on behalf of residential and small commercial customers. "The concept of Charity+Power, Inc. is to allow residential customers to donate a portion of their electricity bill to the 501(C)(3) non-profit organization of their choice," the company said.

Kevin McSpadden serves as executive director of Charity+Power. McSpadden previously served as Senior Attorney, Project Finance at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, LLP, where, among other things, he specialized in power generation development and utility restructuring and M&A. Most recently, McSpadden had served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Gradient Resources Inc. (f/k/a Vulcan Power Company), a geothermal power developer.

Gene McCubbin serves as Vice President, Marketing for Charity+Power. McCubbin previously founded Axis Technologies Corp., a provider of various telecom services, and has founded several online marketing agencies.
