August saw Pennsylvania statewide residential electric migration increase by a similar amount to July's gains, as PPL continues to see declining residential shopping
Statewide, Pennsylvania saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 2,000 accounts from late July to late August. That compares to a net increase of 2,200 statewide residential shoppers from late June to late July.
As noted below, the August net increases at 5 EDCs were smaller than they were during July 2016; however, this was largely offset by a decrease in the rate of the net decline in residential shopping at PPL.
The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late July 2016 to late August 2016 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:
Duquesne Light (165) Met-Ed 396 PECO 1,890 Penelec 1,520 Penn Power 255 PPL (2,073) West Penn Power 227
For comparison, the change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late June 2016 to late July 2016 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) had been:
Duquesne Light (228) Met-Ed 651 PECO 2,390 Penelec 1,528 Penn Power 120 PPL (2,743) West Penn Power 554
