Recently Appointed, M. Howard Petricoff Steps Down as Chair of Public Utilities Commission of Ohio

M. Howard Petricoff has resigned as Chair of Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, effective December 31, 2016, after his nomination was rejected by a Senate committee.

"I am grateful for the governor's trust and out of respect for that trust I see no value in subjecting his appointment of me, nor the good efforts of the Nominating Council, to an unfortunate outcome. Therefore, I have chosen to step down," Petricoff said

Petricoff, who prior to the appointment had been engaged in private practice and often represented retail suppliers and end users before PUCO, had been appointed for a term beginning June 23, 2016 and ending April 10, 2020.
