CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC reported to the Texas PUC that as of January 6, 2017, there are 111 ESIDs that have opted to have non-standard meter service.

This compares to 92 ESIDs that had opted to have non-standard meter service as of January 6, 2016

Generally, non-standard meter service reflects the customer's election to opt-out of having a communicating advanced meter, which could reflect maintaining a never-replaced non-AMS meter, replacement of the AMS meter with a new non-AMS meter, or having the AMS communications disabled on a smart meter
