Dynegy expects to increase competitive retail sales in 2017 as it pushes municipal aggregation in Ohio.
In prepared remarks accompanying its earnings presentation, Dyengy said, "Retail sales for Dynegy in the residential and municipal aggregation markets also increased period-over-period by almost 15%. We expect this trend to continue in 2017 as the Retail team has been working to help educate communities in Ohio on the benefits of adopting municipal aggregation programs, which would increase consumer buying power in those communities. Dynegy was instrumental in helping municipal aggregation growth in the State of Illinois and we are leveraging this expertise to help Ohio consumers."
In an earnings presentation, Dynegy, which previously purchased Ameren's competitive retail business, said that it is, "maintaining [its] strong incumbent position in Illinois."
"Dynegy is one of the largest retailers in Illinois and continues to retain and gain customers through excellent customer service while maintaining margins," Dynegy said
During 2016, Dynegy's retail business sold 27 TWh.
Municipal aggregation and residential sales were 9.8 TWh in 2016, up from 8.6 TWh in 2015.
Mass market accounts were up 12% in 2016 versus 2015, Dynegy said
C&I sales for 2016 were 16.9 TWh
