Residential Default Service Rates Increase At Most FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs (Over 10% At Some EDCs)

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed residential PTCDefault rates with the PUC for the three-month period starting June 1, 2017

The PTCDefault rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%.

At Met-Ed, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.018¢/kWh effective June 1, a 13% decrease from the current 6.964¢/kWh

At Penelec, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.192¢/kWh effective June 1, a 2% increase from the current 6.047¢/kWh

At West Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.602¢/kWh effective June 1, a 10% increase versus the current 5.975¢/kWh

At Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.674¢/kWh effective June 1, a 13% increase versus the current 5.884¢/kWh

At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.703¢/kWh effective June 1, a 2% decrease from the current 6.842¢/kWh

At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 5.795¢/kWh effective June 1, a 17% decrease from the current 7.018¢/kWh

At West Penn Power, the commercial residential PTCDefault rate will be 7.917¢/kWh effective June 1, a 3% increase versus the current 7.67¢/kWh

At Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.415¢/kWh effective June 1, a 13% decrease versus the current 7.41¢/kWh
