Trump Will Nominate Retail Choice Proponent Robert Powelson To FERC, Along With Neil Chatterjee

The Trump administration said yesterday that it will nominate Robert Powelson and Neil Chatterjee to FERC to serve as commissioners.

Powelson, currently a commissioner on the Pennsylvania PUC and formerly the PUC's chair, is an advocate of retail choice and was instrumental in leading Pennsylvania's retail electric market investigation to improve the market.

Chatterjee is an adviser to U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and previously served as a lobbyist for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association

Chatterjee will be nominated to serve a term expiring on June 30, 2021, and Powelson will be nominated to serve a term expiring June 30, 2020
