The additional third party from which Spark Energy recently acquired customers, in connection with its acquisition of Perigee Energy, has been revealed.
Specifically, in several states, Spark Energy is acquiring the customers of Great American Power, LLC.
Previously, Spark Energy, in describing what was later revealed to be its acquisition of Perigee Energy, under a transaction structured through affiliate National Gas & Electric, LLC, had described acquiring 19,000 RCEs, plus an option which Spark exercised, "to acquire an additional 41,000 RCEs from a third party in connection with this acquisition."
EnergyChoiceMatters.com can now report that Spark Energy is acquiring certain customers of Great American Power in certain states, such as Pennsylvania, with these customers being transitioned to various Spark-owned brands such as Oasis Energy or Respond Power. Spark is only acquiring certain customer books from Great American Power and not Great American Power itself. Great American Power intends to maintain its Pennsylvania supplier license
While this was the logical identity of the unnamed third party, since Great American Power was the prior owner of Perigee Energy, Spark had not previously confirmed the identity of the third party.
