Nstar (Eversource Energy) filed basic service electric rates with the Massachusetts DPU for the period beginning January 1, 2018

Separate from the results of its default service procurement, Nstar has pending before the DPU customary updates to other bypassable riders which are included in the total basic service rates. Such updates have not yet been approved, and Nstar's separate tariff filing to implement the 2018 basic rates uses the current adders, not the proposed revised adders.

All rates in this story use the existing adders consistent with Nstar's basic service tariff filing. As such, the rates below will change when new adders are approved.

For Nstar residential customers, the fixed January 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018 basic service rate as filed is 13.157¢/kWh, which is about 22% higher than the current rate of 10.759¢/kWh

The small C&I basic service rate will also increase 20% on January 1

Proposed Nstar basic service rates are below, in ¢/kWh. The rates include the current Basic Service Adders, Renewable Portfolio Standard Adders, Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard Adders, and the Clean Energy Standard Adders. As noted, certain of these adders are subject to a pending change, so final basic service rates will differ from the below.
