The Maryland PSC has scheduled for February 20, 2018 a legislative-style hearing on a petition from several retail suppliers to implement supplier consolidated billing

As previously reported (see details here), on September 7, 2017, NRG Energy, Inc., Interstate Gas Supply, Inc. d/b/a IGS Energy, Just Energy Group, Inc., Direct Energy Services, LLC, and ENGIE Resources LLC filed with the Maryland Public Service Commission a Petition for implementation of supplier consolidated billing for electricity and natural gas in Maryland.

Specifically, the Petitioners requested that the Commission issue an order that: (1) mandates the implementation of Supplier Consolidated Billing (SCB) as a billing option available to customers of competitive licensed retail electricity and natural gas suppliers by June 30, 2019 at the latest; (2) adopts specific policy recommendations and elements that should be included in the SCB option being mandated for Maryland; and (3) establishes a rulemaking proceeding and working groups to facilitate the drafting of new and revised COMARs needed to implement SCB.
