Global Commodities Merchant's Retail Supplier Receives Authority To Serve Residential, Small C&I Customers

The Pennsylvania PUC granted Freepoint Energy Solutions LLC an expanded electric supplier license to include service to residential and small commercial (under 25 kW) customers at the seven large EDCs, in addition to its prior authority to serve large commercial (over 25 kW), industrial, and governmental customers.

The authority granted under the expanded license allows Freepoint Energy Solutions to serve all residential and small commercial customers; it specifically sought to serve all such customers, and its request was not limited to serving such small volume customers only in mixed meter scenarios

Freepoint Energy Solutions is now authorized to serve all customer classes at Duquesne Light Company, Metropolitan Edison Company, PECO Energy Company, Pennsylvania Electric Company, Pennsylvania Power Company, PPL Electric Utilities Corporation, and West Penn Power Company
