SmartestEnergy, New Entrant To U.S. Retail Market, Seeks Licenses In More States

SmartestEnergy applied for an Illinois alternative retail electric supplier license to serve commercial customers with annual usage >15,000 kWh in the Commonwealth Edison territory

SmartestEnergy also applied for a District of Columbia electric supplier license to serve commercial and industrial customers

In its Illinois application, SmartestEnergy stated that it is is licensed as a competitive retail electric supplier in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio, and has pending applications in Maryland and Delaware.

SmartestEnergy US LLC's plans to enter the U.S. retail energy markets had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com last year.
