Most FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs' Commercial Default Service Rates Increasing About 10%

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed commercial PTC_Default rates with the PUC for the three-month period starting December 1, 2020

The PTC_Default rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%. The utilities have not yet posted new official PTCs; the tariff filings with the new rates have not yet been approved by the PUC as of publication time

At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTC_Default rate will increase nearly 12% to $0.05821 per kWh effective December 1, versus the current $0.05220 per kWh

At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTC_Default rate will increase 12% to $0.05633 per kWh effective December 1, versus the current $0.05012 per kWh

At Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTC_Default rate will be $0.06616 per kWh effective December 1, versus the current $0.06762

At West Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTC_Default rate will increase nearly 9% to $0.05703 per kWh effective December 1, versus the current $0.05244 per kWh

All of the new PTC_Default rates for the FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs are to be in effect for the period December 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021.
