Resi Station, LLC applied for electric market-based rate authority at FERC, for the Southwest Region
Resi Station said that it will serve as an aggregator of residential demand response accounts within California and intends to offer such aggregations into the markets operated by the California Independent System Operator Corporation (CAISO) and to provide load serving entities with the associated Resource Adequacy credits. While Resi Station intends to develop an up to 550 MW virtual power plant over time, the aggregation for such power plant will consist of flexible demand response assets, and not jurisdictional electric generation facilities
"While Applicant intends to aggregate only demand resources and customers in net metering programs that are not net sellers,6 Applicant submits this application out of an abundance of caution should it make any jurisdictional sales (e.g., for balancing purposes). Neither Applicant nor any of its affiliates owns, controls, or operates any electric generation or transmission facilities or any inputs to power production. In addition, neither Applicant nor any of its affiliates has a franchised utility service area," Resi Station said
Resi Station is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of OhmStation CA, LLC (OhmStation CA) and Resilia ProjectCo, LLC (Resilia). OhmStation CA is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of OhmConnect, Inc.
OhmConnect will provide management, operation, and administrative support services on behalf of Resi Station, subject to Resi Station's oversight and direction
As exclusively reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, another OhmConnect subsidiary, OhmConnect Texas LLC, recently received a Texas retail electric provider certificate
Resilia is described as, "a first-of-its-kind infrastructure innovation platform that finances and develops certain advanced infrastructure projects and technologies, including the business operated by Applicant." Resilia is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of Resilia HoldingsCo, LLC, which in turn, is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of SIP InvestmentsCo, LLC ('SIP Investments'). SIP Investments is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of SIP Intermediate HoldCo, LLC, which in turn, is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, LLC ('SIP'). There are four entities (and no individuals) that directly hold 10% or more of SIP’s voting securities: SIP ManagementCo, LLC ('SIP Management'), which is controlled by two individuals, Brian Barlow and Jonathan Winer, who are the Co-Chief Executive Officers of SIP and who operate, manage and control SIP on a day-to-day basis, and three unaffiliated entities: Alphabet Holdings LLC, TI Platform Holdings, LLC and Sidewalk Labs LLC, each of which holds passive, non-controlling interests with rights solely to protect their investments consistent with those rights that the Commission held to be passive in AES Creative Resources
