BP Reports "Exceptional" Natural Gas Marketing & Trading Results From Q1, On Colder U.S. Weather

BP reported profit for the first quarter of 2021 of $4.7 billion, compared with a loss of $4.4 billion a year ago
Underlying replacement cost profit was $2.6 billion, compared with $0.1 billion for the previous quarter
Driving the gains was, "an exceptional gas marketing and trading performance," along with significantly higher oil prices and higher refining margins
BP did not specifically cite any markets or geographic area in which it recorded the gain in natural gas marketing, other than broadly referencing the U.S. and being well-positioned for colder than normal weather experienced during Q1
