EDF Trading, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF S.A., announced the appointment of Paul Kitchen as Head of Environmental Products.

Kitchen will report to Valentino Scavardone, Head of Origination, and his new role is effective 1st October.

"There is an increasing focus on environmental products as the world moves towards a net zero future," said Philipp Büssenschütt, Chief Commercial Officer. "EDF Trading needs to adapt and react to this in order to take advantage of the business opportunities it presents. We are therefore creating a dedicated sales and origination function, led by Paul, that will focus exclusively on environmental products such as GOOs, I-RECs, EUAs, UKAs and other carbon products. One particular area of focus is the voluntary carbon market which is set to significantly grow. We are ready to support our customers with bespoke structures which will help them achieve their voluntary and compliance targets."

Kitchen joined EDFT in 2006 as a Senior Originator in Paris. He was appointed Head of UK Origination in 2009.

Prior to joining EDFT, Kitchen held positions at E.ON, TXU and National Grid Transco.
