Met-Ed, West Penn Power Residential Prices To Compare Increasing Nearly 5%

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed residential PTC-Default rates with the Pennsylvania PUC for the three-month period starting December 1, 2021

The PTC-Default rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%. The utilities have not yet posted new official PTCs; the tariff filings with the new rates have not yet been approved by the PUC as of publication time

At Met-Ed, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.07414 per kWh effective December 1, a 4% increase versus the current $0.07114 per kWh.

At Penelec, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.06507 per kWh effective December 1, a 4% decrease versus the current $0.06761 per kWh

At Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.07593 per kWh effective December 1, a marginal decrease versus the current $0.07657 per kWh

At West Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTC-Default rate will be $0.05698 per kWh effective December 1, a nearly 5% increase versus the current $0.05447 per kWh

All of the new PTC-Default rates for the FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs are to be in effect for the period December 1, 2021 through February 28, 2022.
