United Illuminating Residential Default Service Rate To Increase 33%; Small Commercial Rate Increasing 26%

United Illuminating has filed new default service rates with the Connecticut PURA for the period beginning January 1, 2022

The January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022 UI residential (Rate R) Standard Service rate will be 10.6731¢/kWh, which is 33% higher than the current UI Rate R rate of about 8.0103¢/kWh. All of the Standard Service rates in this story include the Bypassable FMCC (where applicable) which is zero.

The UI Rate GS Standard Service rate will increase 26% to 9.9109¢/kWh on January 1, 2022, from the current rate of about 7.8593¢/kWh

New Standard Service rates for January 2022 through June 2022 are as follows, in cents per kWh (for Rates LPT & GST, rates only applicable for customers under 500 kW).
