Start-up Summer Energy Seeks Texas REP Certificate

Start-up Summer Energy LLC applied for a Texas REP certificate.

Summer Energy is led by CEO Rod Danielson, formerly of Horizon Power & Light and Gexa Energy, and President and COO Jamie Rigell, formerly of Horizon Power & Light, StarTex Power, and Gexa.

Summer Energy's application states that two of Summer's principals, Rigell and Danielson, "were principals at TexRep5, LLC d/b/a AllStar Energy."

Under a previously reported settlement, AllStar Energy agreed to relinquish its REP certificate to resolve a pending Staff petition for revocation (5/13).

However, Summer Energy states that the two principals named in the AllStar settlement agreement, as well as a Delaware settlement agreement relating to Horizon, "are not principals in Summer Energy" (ostensibly referring to Neil Leibman and Tom O'Leary).

Summer Energy stated that it has a wholesale supply agreement with BP Energy Company.

Energy Services Group will provide EDI, billing and CIS services, and Regulatory Compliance Services will provide regulatory support.
