From July to September, Public Service Electric and Gas saw a decrease in its residential natural gas accounts served by competitive suppliers.

The BPU's August stats, including accounts and load migrated, may be found here.

A comparison by Matters of accounts migrated in September 2011 versus August 2011 can be found here (second tab).

As noted last month, the PSE&G migration data for August was incorrect. Accordingly, PSE&G data is compared to the July data.

From July to September, PSE&G saw a net decline in migrated residential gas accounts of nearly 1,500. This is a reversal from the growth of 2,201 migrated residential accounts from June to July.

Elsewhere, residential migration growth from August to September at New Jersey Natural Gas was marginally slower at 400 accounts, versus growth of 500 accounts from July to August.

From August to September, South Jersey Gas saw a reversal in the prior-month decline, and saw residential migration growth of 700 accounts. This compares to a net loss of 300 residential shoppers from July to August.

Elizabethtown Gas also saw a reversal by posting residential migration growth of over 100 accounts from August to September, versus a net decline of 74 residential shoppers from July to August.

As a percentage of total residential accounts, migration for the month of September 2011 was as follows:

Elizabethtown Gas: 1.03%

New Jersey Natural Gas: 6.90%

PSE&G: 4.55%

South Jersey Gas: 11.05%
