People's Power & Gas Seeks Georgia License

People's Power & Gas has applied for a Georgia natural gas marketer certificate. A copy of the application was not immediately available. New entrants to the Georgia gas market are rare, and the most recently certified marketer in the Georgia market is Stream Energy, which was licensed in 2008. The newest entrant into the Georgia market is Commerce Energy (see 9/15), under Just Energy ownership, which recently returned to the market under a previously granted certificate after having left the market some years ago.

GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions Receives Ohio License

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions, LLC d/b/a Think Energy an electric supplier license to serve commercial customers in all service areas. The application was first reported by Matters (10/17). As only reported by Matters, GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions is a new subsidiary of GDF Suez Energy Resources NA formed to serve small volume electric customers (7/27)

Alternative Utility Services, Inc. Receives Ohio Gas Broker License

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted Alternative Utility Services, Inc. a natural gas broker/aggregator license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. The application was first reported by Matters (10/19).

Maryland PSC Fines SourceOne $100, Grants Gas Broker License

The Maryland PSC fined SourceOne, Inc. (DE) $100 for prior natural gas brokering activity without the requisite license, and granted SourceOne a natural gas broker license to serve commercial and industrial customers in all service areas.
